About
Our ensemble.
Bringing high-quality wind ensemble music to the Chesapeake Bay region — free and open to the community, performed by volunteer musicians of all backgrounds.
History
Founded in 1998, the Chesapeake Bay Wind Ensemble has performed free concerts for communities across Hampton Roads for over 25 years. Our all-volunteer members — teachers, active-duty servicemembers, retirees, and working musicians — are united by a love of the concert-band repertoire, and we partner with local schools and youth programs to mentor young musicians and keep American wind music thriving on the tidewater.
Leadership
The ensemble is led by a volunteer music director and supported by an elected board.
